HYPERVISION HELP DESK - BATTERY MANAGE / DRAIN
Our cameras feature 14-30 Day Back Up Batteries in normal operating conditions, however, low sun / shade for long periods or poor management can bring any camera to its knees in a day!
Has your camera stopped working and there is a little
RED indicator on the bottom of your app window?
Your camera is on "dry hire", meaning it's in your control!
As per our "welcome information" , it's very important to treat your hire equipment just like you would any other cordless equipment on hire.
If you hire a drill and use it a lot.. it needs charging!
Check your camera daily or at least weekly and make sure everything is running as it should. Especially during periods of high site activity and low sun. If something is concerning you or the battery is running down, please contact us before it goes flat.
If the battery has gone flat then there is a reason!
Batteries in our site cameras have EXCELLENT back up and will run 14 - 30 days (activity dependant) even if unplugged, so if a battery goes flat then something changed!
Like any cordless power tool - you get warning
The phone app will send warning for 7 days prior to 100% drain in normal circumstances.
Also the BATTERY status in the settings, gives you a CLEAR indication of the status of the battery on any given day. So if the battery charge is heading down over a period of days, it's time to look at what's going on or contact us! (Before it's flat)
Why is my or has my battery gone flat?

APP LEFT OPEN
The most common cause is forgetting to close your app after viewing. Swiping to the background is not closing an app. It's still draining the battery. Streaming will drain a battery within hours on a standard site camera. If its followed by cloud cover, then the charge rate will be slow or even non existent until sun. You will get warning in the app if the battery is runing low.
(Remedy: Close APP, Wait for Sun / book service (Chargeable)

SUN SHIFT
Over Winter the sun will drop in the sky and change position and your camera may no longer be getting a full charge or a tree is now shading the solar panel. You will get plenty of warning in the app if it's not getting enough sun.
(Remedy: Book service call (NON Chargeable)

CAMERA MOVED
When cameras are intalled on, site we perform a sun calculation. If you have moved the camera to a new position and it's now in shade, then it may need to be repositioned. If it cannot, contact us and discuss remote solar options. You will get plenty of warning in the app if it's not getting enough sun.
(Remedy: Move camera back into sun, book service call (Chargeable)

HEAVY SITE ACTIVITY
APPLIES TO BLACKBOX PLUS / AI Cameras only.
If you have continuous and HEAVY site activity and cloudy conditions, the cameras will monitor all activity, draining the battery (Even if emails are off)
(Remedy: Turn PIR off whilst activity in progess
So my battery is flat! Now what do I do?
If camera has moved into shade (Not your fault)
BOOK SERVICE CALL - No Charge
If the camera has GONE flat due to use
WAIT FOR SUN (free) OR BOOK SERVICE - Chargeable
If the camera has been moved by you
MOVE AGAIN for SUN OR BOOK SERVICE - Chargeable
Regardless of the reason, the APP gives PLENTY of warning
to book a service call or make contact with us well before a battery goes flat.
A 7-14 Day wait may apply to get techs on site in
normal scheduling. Urgent Fees will apply if shorter lead
times required.
